Our beautiful girl Simba came to join our clan on April 8th, 2004, she was born on 7/13/01 so she was still a pup. Jerry rescued her from a co-worker who had to give her up. He thought that maybe our other dog, Brutie needed a playmate. When he brought her home Brutie instantly fell in love with his new friend and they got along wonderfully. We got a kitten shortly after Simba came to us and she was great with the cats as well. She loved to roll around in the backyard and chase bees and wasps (went to the emergency room once because she got stung of course).Simba was a funny, frisky, finicky girl who loved to sleep on her back with all 4 paws up in the air-she made us laugh all the time. She stole our dirty laundry and would fling them around the house, romping joyfully (to our aggrivation sometimes).
She was diagnosed with Lymphoma in June 2010 and we were in disbelief as she was not showing any symptoms yet. She fought the awful disease for 6 months and finally succomed to it January 9th 2011 very peacefully to our relief. We were praying she would make it through Christmas and New Years, and that she did. I am sure she has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge and is in a meadow frolicking with her new friends until we meet again someday.
We miss her dearly, and will always remember the good times we had with her. Our house is not quite the same yet without her, but every day seems to be a little easier.
Thank you to Rick and John at Family Pet Mortuary for your caring, empathy, and the respect you showed to both Simba and us. You have helped us get through a very difficult time. It is a wonderful service that you provide for the community, I will recommend your services highly to anyone who needs to make these kinds of arrangements for their beloved pets.
